Antique Washbasin The Pearl

This remarkable antique washbasin, with the brand name The Pearl clearly marked in the centre of the bowl, was made in England around 1900. Its almost square design combined with the two solid ceramic pedestal legs underlines its utility character. Such basins were often installed in butler’s kitchens of old English houses, where there was a strict separation between Upstairs (the family) and Downstairs (the staff).

Because of its size, its twin pedestals, and its sober yet strong lines, this is a particularly rare piece. While it shows wear consistent with age and use, the basin remains in good structural condition and can be installed again without difficulty – ready for a second life in a setting where authenticity and character matter.

Condition:
Good structural condition. The taps are present, however they are not tested. Some surface marks, no cracks. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses on sides of pedestals and scratches. The taps are not refurbished.

The faucets can be replaced by a new one, for example a bridge faucet and the basin could be very well combined with a wall mixer.

Measurements: approx. 66 cm wide x 51 cm deep
