Vintage Double Pedestal Sink — Powder Blue — Paris 1958, attributed to Porcher
A truly extraordinary find from a Mid-Century apartment in Paris. Stamped on the inside of the pedestal is the date 12 December 1958 — a rare mark of authenticity that places this piece in the golden age of Modernist design. Attributed to Porcher, one of France's most celebrated ceramic manufacturers, this model is remarkable in any colour. In Powder Blue, it is simply one of a kind — we have never encountered another double basin in this glaze.
The enamel retains its luminous gloss, both chrome overflow systems are in full working order, and the three-hole mixer tap connections are ready to receive new taps (not included). A small chip is visible on the left-hand side of the left basin, and there is light wear around the base of the pedestal — honest traces of decades of use that do nothing to diminish the presence of this architectural piece. Whether you are restoring a period home, designing a retro-chic bathroom, or seeking a genuine collector's item, this washbasin commands the room.
