Antique wall-mounted vanity mirror with candle holders
A rare oval shaving and vanity mirror, manufactured around 1900, exceptionally well preserved for its age. The mirror is fixed to the wall by means of an extending wall bracket and can easily be adjusted in height. It swivels smoothly from left to right, and the two candle holders are equally adjustable — they can be set wider apart or brought closer together, entirely to suit the moment.
The oval mirror itself swivels within its frame and is finished with a beautifully bevelled (faceted) edge that catches the light in the most charming way. The presence of the candle holders suggests that this antique wall mirror was most likely used in a room without electricity, a delightful historical detail that confirms its age of around 1900. A truly unique object that we come across only rarely — a real eye-catcher in a classic bathroom, on a vanity dresser or in the bedroom.
